I have worked for Riverview Intermediate Unit 6 (RIU6) for the past 16 years. During the first four years I worked as a state licensed Certified Occupational TherapyAssistant (COTA) while working toward my master’s degree in occupational therapy. From March 2010 until February of 2022, I worked as a licensed Occupational Therapist. During my years with RIU6 I have worked in every level of classroom programming offered which includes preschool, life skills, autism support and the multiple disabilities program. In February of 2022 I began working as the Transition Coordinator for RIU6. This position allows me to utilize my specialized skills as an occupational therapist to assist students with achieving the skills they need to be successful in their pursuit of working in the community and being as independent as possible with their activities of daily living. I have completed the PaTTAN Job Coaching training to increase my skills to ensure that students are guided through their career exploration and paid work experience using an effective and competent approach.
